89-hp Rotax V-Twin engine
The new 89-hp, 80o 976cc liquid-cooled V-twin DOHC, eight-valve Rotax engine in the Renegade X mr 1000R has lead the ATV industry in performance. Shared with the Outlander X mr 1000R, the engine gained a 9% power increase via new piston designs, a new 54 mm throttle body and the new engine head from the Can-Am Maverick.TM EFI ensures optimal performance from the engine at all times.
Mud-ready CVT with lower “L” gear range
The CVT (Continuously Variable Transmission) means no shifting is required. The system includes standard engine braking with High, Low, Park, Neutral and Reverse gears. The CVT housing has 13 bolts to ensure a proper seal and also includes an integrated drain plug. The Can-Am X mr family includes an extra low range “L-gear” with a softer engagement and improved throttle control for low-speed riding and better traction in heavy mud.
Integrated CVT intake and exhaust system
Can-Am has made sure that critical components like the CVT intake and outlet, as well as the engine intake are located as high as possible on the ATV. We placed them in the pod directly in front of the handlebars and high above the muddy, wet conditions below.
The larger radiator, with its class-leading 27 kW of cooling capacity, on the Can-Am Renegade X mr 1000R ensures all-day rides in the deep mud.
Dual-room, no-tools air box
The X mr family of ATVs have their no-tools air box placed at a high and centralized location for filtering and processing air. A dual-room air filtration design captures dirty air in one portion of the box and clean air in another section before it sends the air to the engine. Specific to the X mr, the airbox also features an easy access drain.
The mud enthusiasts will also appreciate the higher air intake ensuring performance in mud and water.
High-grade exhaust and silencer
The Renegade X mr 1000R has a performance-inspired exhaust system, including and a durable end cap/cover, that produces a throaty and impressive exhaust note, yet adheres to strict dB and emissions standards.
